Country Study Project

All classes will meet in the Library Media Center

Tuesday-Thursday, October 21-23.

AFRICA:  COUNTRY STUDY
Project DUE: October 29, 2014
Your Task:  Research a modern African country and create a google slide show to share in class as part of a virtual tour of Africa.  You will learn about each other’s country by viewing one another’s google slide shows in class.  Our goal will be to identify similarities and differences shared by various African nations.
For this task, you may work with a partner to research one country in Africa and create a google slide show.   For each day of research, you will receive a class grade based on your notes.  For the slide show you will earn a project grade and a final one-page essay based on what you learn from each other will be worth a quiz grade.

We will have 3 days in the library media center conducting research.  Use the suggested links before doing a general search on the web.  It will be faster to find the required information and the sources are reliable.  Only after your research is completed should you do more general searches for images, video and audio.

 GUIDELINES:
·       NEVER use more than 3 lines of text on any slide (you will lose points from your grade)
·       NEVER cut an paste information – write your own text and include FACTS you have researched
·       Do use technology to enhance viewing and understanding
·       Do include creative formatting and designs – engage your viewer
·       Be careful not to overdo on special effects!
·       ASK questions if you are unclear at any point.
