January 5 - Class Assignment - Year in Review
Work on your own or with ONE partner to complete the New York Times year-end news quiz. This task will be completed electronically. Each question has a link to the original story - use these links to find out more about any news events unfamiliar to you. FOCUS on stories of INTERNATIONAL or NATIONAL importance. Sports, pop culture and human interest are secondary. As you answer questions, create a list of what you believe are the MOST significant events of the past year. Narrow your list to 8-10 events and RANK them in order of importance. Think about what has shaped 2014 and how this year should be remembered in the news! Complete, as needed, for homework. Be prepared to explain and defend your choices in class tomorrow.
